A person’s Medicare experience greatly depends on the quality of information received early in the process.  This can be a heavy burden for a person to gather on their own.  Blaze Senior Concepts specializes in assisting individuals and employers throughout the Medicare enrollment process and beyond.

It’s important you know the facts when researching your Medicare options. Blaze Senior Concepts is an independent insurance agency. This means we offer multi-carrier options, with the freedom to recommend the insurance plan that fits best for YOU. Our plans are underwritten by national and regional insurance carriers with an AM Best rating of A or higher. We walk you through every step of your Medicare planning.

Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance):

  • Covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care, and some home health care.
  • Most people don’t pay a premium if they or their spouse paid Medicare taxes while working.
  • Deductibles and coinsurance apply.

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance):

  • Covers outpatient care, doctor visits, preventive services, and some home health care.
  • Requires a monthly premium (based on income).
  • Deductibles and 20% coinsurance apply for most services.

Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage):

  • An alternative to Original Medicare (Parts A & B), offered by private insurance companies.
  • Includes all benefits from Parts A & B, often with additional benefits like vision, dental, and hearing.
  • May include prescription drug coverage (Part D) and have different out-of-pocket costs.

Medicare Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage):

  • Provides prescription drug coverage, available through standalone plans or included in some Medicare Advantage plans.
  • Requires a monthly premium and may have deductibles and copayments.
  • Coverage varies by plan, and there is a formulary (list of covered drugs)

Medicare Supplement (Medigap):

  • Private insurance plans that help pay out-of-pocket costs not covered by Original Medicare (Parts A & B), such as deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance.
  • Does not cover prescription drugs (Part D) or additional benefits like vision or dental.
  • Standardized across states, but premium costs vary by provider and location.
